12 Ways to Generate Leads for Your Consulting Business...

As a consultant, new, fresh leads are the lifeblood of your business. Without them, you will soon run out of services you can sell to your existing clients. You need to ensure there is always an influx of new leads pouring into your business daily. Many will not pan out, and others will want something for free. Resist the temptation to give your services away for the promise of a larger payday down the road. This almost never pans out, and your clients will only keep asking for more. This is not to say you should never help someone out, but be selective and remember this is your business! Treat it as such. (Trust me: Been there. Done that. Have the T-shirt.)

The Power of Mentoring and Entrepreneurship

You speak a great deal about the mindset of an entrepreneur. Of the parts of that mindset -- things like opportunity recognition, persistence, collaboration, communication, iteration -- what do you see as most important? Why?
This principle can be labeled in many ways, but I think the “thirst for knowledge” is one of the most important attributes of the entrepreneurial mindset. It’s having a passion for learning, strengthening the mind, and always wanting to understand how you can be better at what you do.

Achievement starts with an ideas and are based on Actions...

Accomplishments are based on actions, not on thoughts--yet the thought is always father to the deed. Achievement starts with an idea, a perspective, a point of view, or even just an attitude. (Ideas, perspectives, and points of view like these, for starters.)

Here are some of the things extraordinarily successful people say every day--and how those statements spur them to take actions that lead to even greater success:

5 Ways to Boost Creativity in Your Business

In my field as a coach, relatively few entrepreneurs come wanting to learn the old, established ways of doing things. They want to know how they can gain an edge by doing something nobody else is doing. And the best way to do that, of course, is to come up with an idea that nobody else has thought of.

But while best-practices and processes for many mission-critical functions are widely known, relatively few business leaders are well-versed in what it takes to foster creativity. Fortunately, there are a ways that entrepreneurs can make themselves and their companies more creative.
Here are five creativity-boosters any entrepreneur can implement:

5 Ways to Help Your Business Survive Its Adolescence...

Nothing compares to bringing life into the world. But a close second might be building your new company. After all, there's a reason we coined the term business "life cycle."
Once the company is up and running, running it might be likened to raising a child. Instead of wooing your little one's way into elite preschools, you're pitching venture capitalists. Rather than sending your teen off to college, you're grooming your company for acquisition. If you make it through the "teething" stage of testing strategies and gaining market traction, you get to look forward (or not look forward) to . . . adolescence.
Brace yourself for flashbacks to those difficult years. At times, your brand will look just as ugly and awkward but still have those tender moments of confidence and poise. Some business relationships will flourish, and others will end unhappily ever after. No company achieves success without weathering growing pains, but as every parent knows, the years spanning high school and college are a grueling necessity in development.
So, how do you "raise" your Business right? Here are some ways to navigate this tumultuous era so your business comes out smart and successful on the other side:

12 Tips for Expanding What's Possible in 2016...

Each and every year about this time my thoughts, and probably yours, turn to what I have to celebrate about the year winding to a close and what I am committing to for the year to come.

5 Toxic Beliefs and Negative Values that Make Success Impossible...

It's hard to think differently and be able to dream new dreams. We'd all like to be visionary thinkers like Bezos, Buffett and Branson (the Three B's of Bold Thinking) and achieve great things.
But most of us aren't bold visionaries.

And that's OK, because while you and I might never come up with the next big thing, we can decide to think differently from other people -- and in the process, achieve differently from other people.

Here are five things people think that ruin their chances for success.. and more importantly how you can think differently:

5 Powerful Habits That Drive Every Great Leader To Success...

If you take a look inside most any management textbook, you'll find that there are four classic functions of management that have been written about for decades: plan, organize, lead, and control.

SUCCESS HABITS

While I personally believe that these functions still do have their place in business, they don't really tell leaders how to best to unlock the energy within the members of their team to get things done.

In my many years of business experience, I have found that 5 powerful leadership habits make the biggest difference in the success of every leader -- and the organizations they work for.

7 Questions You Need to Answer for a Mind-Blowing New Year...

Now is also a great time to reflect on the past year. So I am confident that you have scheduled time and activities for your new year retrospective?

Haven’t you? No? Now that is a shame.

As a leader, you are not only responsible for achieving goals and setting a vision, but you are also responsible for reflecting on the past year. It's important to do this at every significant milestone, and especially at quarter-end and year-end. Why? Because you run the risk of dragging your unfinished business into the next year. And that could adversely affect new or multi-year projects.
